Oakmont Management Group is recruiting for a Medication Technician at Ivy Living—Salinas. The role involves supervising and assisting in medication administration for residents, along with direct personal care and activity engagement.

Responsibilities include coordinating with pharmacies and physicians, maintaining records, and supporting a safe, collaborative care environment for seniors. This position is based on-site with shift coverage Friday–Monday in Salinas, CA.

Qualifications

• One year of experience assisting with medication in RCFE settings.
• Completion of state-required training/certification may be needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physician.
• Track changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain confidential resident medication and care records.
• Ensure a safe environment following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork with coworkers and other departments.

The Medication Technician

is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values. Also assists with care provider responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
