Job summary

Aventura Place in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to join our Assisted Living Facility team. This role supports residents with medication administration and related tasks in a compassionate, professional environment.

Experience in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing is preferred. The ideal candidate maintains privacy, observes orders, and collaborates with supervising staff to ensure safe medication practices.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred in an Assisted Living Facility or Skilled Nursing Facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides privacy for the resident.
• Checks for changes in orders and discontinued orders.
• Assists with self-administration of medication as assigned within the scope of practice.
• Assists with self-administration of medications, staying with each resident until the medication is consumed and charts appropriately.
• Maintains upkeep and cleanliness of medication carts, wipes down top of medication cart daily.
• Daily checks medication cart for upcoming expiration dates and notifies supervising nurse of all meds expiring.
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate narcotic log and verifying count with oncoming Med Tech.
• Notifies a supervising nurse at once if noting any adverse reaction of medication on resident.
• Notes significant changes in condition of resident.
• Communicates requests and problems to appropriate personnel
