Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY, is seeking a Medication Technician for the Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services Men’s Residence. You will oversee self-administration of medications, monitor effects, maintain records and inventory, and support a safe, recovery-oriented living environment.

You will work with nursing and residential staff to ensure medication safety and coordinate care. A high school diploma or equivalent and CPR/First Aid certification are required, with one year of experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain within the first month of employment.
• Preferred: one year of experience as a Medication Aide or Medication Technician.
• Experience in substance use disorder or addiction recovery settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the self-administration of medications per policy and regulations.
• Monitor and document medication effects, reporting concerns to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate medication counts and inventory.
• Keep medication carts organized, clean, and compliant; assist audits.
• Serve as a positive role model, promoting recovery-focused behavior and boundaries.
• Collaborate with nursing and residential staff to support daily operations.
• Assist with additional duties to support the residential treatment team.
