Job summary

Homewood Living Martinsburg is seeking a Part-Time Med Tech for the evening shift. You will assist residents with daily living activities and administer medications under licensed supervision.

On-the-job training to receive med tech certification is provided; benefits include health and life insurance options, retirement contributions, tuition reimbursement, and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Must be certified on state registry as a Medication Technician within 120 days of employment.
• Ability to frequently lift and transfer up to 30 pounds of resident weight throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn for an eight-hour shift.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to perform sequential tasks.
• Motivation and desire to work with geriatric residents.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• CPR certification and basic First Aid preferred.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant in the state where care is provided a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence under supervision of licensed staff.
• Administer and record medications as ordered by the physician, following certification regulations.
• Treat all information about residents and families as confidential.
• Comply with policies and procedures and maintain standards and practices.
• Assist with personal hygiene care, including bathing, shaving, changing clothes, nail care, and toilet needs.
• Ensure residents have clean, dry linen and make beds as needed.
• Support proper resident nutrition during meals and snacks.
• Perform resident treatments as assigned by the Head Nurse within nursing scope of practice.
• Observe, record, and report changes in resident condition to Head Nurse.
• Participate in planning of resident care and promote ADLs according to service plans.
• Conduct resident lifts and transfers per service plan and Lift Free Program.
• Prepare and administer oral, topical, and inhalant medications, document, and monitor changes.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Job Summary:

• Ability to frequently lift and transfer up to30 pounds of resident weight (approximately 15 times) throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist,and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift.
• Strong organizational skills and ability toperform sequential tasks.
• Motivation and desire to work with geriatricresidents.
• Ability to communicate effectively inEnglish, both verbally and in writing, to carry out care plans and provideappropriate resident care.
• CPR certification and basic First Aidpreferred.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant in the state wherecare is provided a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work on their feet constantly during an 8-hour shift;bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently throughout the shift while performingregular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight and/ortransfer and reposition residents at least 25 times throughout the shift. Mustbe capable of quick and decisive reactions in emergencies and in response tounexpected resident behavior during lifting, repositioning, or other directcontact situations. Must be able to physically transfer residents to saferlocations in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Ability to performsequential events/tasks efficiently.
