Job summary

Oakmont Management Group in California is seeking a Medication Technician/Caregiver for full-time assisted living at Ivy Park at Playa Vista. You will supervise and assist in the administration of medications to residents, while providing direct personal care and encouraging participation in activities.

Responsibilities include preparing and distributing medications, coordinating with residents, pharmacies, and physicians, tracking changes, and maintaining confidential records.

Qualifications

• Experience with medication assistance preferred in a RCFE.
• State training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Able to use MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.

Shifts, Time, and Days: Med-Tech Thurs, Fri, and Sat. NOC 10pm-6:30am and Care Sunday and Monday

Pay Range: $18.42-$19.42

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
