Job summary

Oakmont Management Group in Lodi, CA, is seeking a Medication Technician to supervise and assist in administering medications to residents in accordance with nursing standards and company policies.

You will provide direct personal care, support activities, and collaborate with housekeepers and maintenance to uphold our mission and values.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate record keeping, and teamwork across departments to ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year of experience assisting with medication in a care facility.
• State regulation may require training/certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Good written and verbal communication with staff, physicians, and families.
• Pass a criminal background check and health screening tests, including TB tests.
• Vaccination/testing may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe environment following established safety standards.

The Medication Technician

is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
