Job summary

Oakmont of Concord is a premier senior living community seeking a part-time Medication Technician to help supervise and assist in administering medications for residents. You will work with nursing staff to ensure accuracy and safety in accordance with company standards.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and adherence to policies. A HS diploma is required; RCFE medication experience is preferred, and state training may be required. MS Office skills are helpful.

Qualifications

  • Experience assisting with medication at RCFE preferred.
  • Completion of state-required training/certification may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
  • Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physician.
  • Track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential resident medication records.
  • Maintain a safe environment following safety standards.
  • Encourage teamwork with other departments.

Position: Medication Technician

Shifts, Time, and Days: Part-Time

Pay Range: $18 - 19 per hour (depending on experience)

The Medication Technician

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
  • Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
  • Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Qualifications
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
  • Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
  • Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
  • For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
