Job description

Supervisor’s Title: Director of Health Services

Position Summary

Administers medications as prescribed; observes, documents, and communicates medication effectiveness and any adverse reactions; provides resident care support as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist residents with high‑quality medication administration per care plans and physician orders; support ADLs as needed (bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinence care, vitals, height/weight).
  • Maintain linens and personal laundry per schedule; assist with meals and feeding as needed; utilize life‑enrichment approaches routinely.
  • Keep work areas neat and clean; complete assignments timely per chain of command; report unusual behaviors/changes to nursing; review special‑needs communications each shift; provide activities as directed.
  • Document resident status per policy; respond to call lights and emergencies promptly; provide emergency care within scope; follow facility policies.

Education

  • High school diploma preferred; medication assistance certificate where required.

Experience

  • One (1) year as Medication Assistant/CNA/PCA/RA preferred; one (1) year with seniors/ Alzheimer’s preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to learn resident‑specific needs; emergency readiness; English proficiency for communication.
  • Comfort using Gardens Care’s approved systems is required: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Meet), ECP (care management), Sagely (life enrichment/ activity documentation), and ADP (timekeeping, payroll, scheduling).

Special Requirements

  • Medical clearance per policy.

Tools & Equipment

  • Computer; office equipment; medical assessment tools; washer/dryer.

Physical Activities

  • Lift/carry up to 100 lbs. occasionally; push/pull up to 100 lbs.; climb/reach/bend/twist occasionally; sit ~2 hrs; stand/walk ~6 hrs per 8‑hr day.

Visual Requirements

  • Resident care/assessment including color, depth perception, and field of vision.
  • In the course of their duties, employees may encounter residents with a range of medical and health‑related needs.
