Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities, LLC is hiring a Medication Aide responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The role supports the nursing department and collaborates with medical professionals to promote residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, coordinating care with staff, and meeting continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment preferred.
• Current certification as Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
• CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attends in-service training and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and related memory impairments preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support residents’ well-being.
• Assist with personal care, housekeeping, laundry, and activities as assigned within the community.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.

• Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.

• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.

• Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.

• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
