Job summary

Wallick is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for Oakleaf Village Columbus, OH. The role supports residents with daily medication administration under licensed nursing staff, ensuring safety and compassionate care across shifts.

You will administer prescribed medications, monitor reactions, maintain documentation, and assist with activities and daily living tasks to promote residents’ well-being in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current valid Medication Aide Certificate authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Nurse Aide Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Promptly report to the nurse a resident’s request or need for PRN medications.
• Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.
• Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff management and families.
• Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Provide physical resident care including personal hygiene and grooming.
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to residents’ needs.
• Assist in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and document meal intake.
• Know proper first aid technique.
• Complete documentation of medication administration.
• Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment for residents.
• Motivate and encourage resident involvement in activities.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Lifting, turning, and repositioning residents as needed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Care or designee.
