Somerset Court of Rocky Mount is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. You will document accurately, monitor for side effects, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Preferred candidates have a state Medication Aide certification or on-the-job training, with experience in senior care and a patient, detail-oriented approach to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
• Healthcare experience in senior care or assisted living preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration and safety protocols.
• Effective communication with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care and assist with ADLs for residents with specific medical needs.
• Maintain accurate medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes and notify the healthcare team as needed.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize care.
• Follow all regulatory protocols for medication administration and safety.
