Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Medication Aide to join our Tucson-area senior living community. The role administers prescribed medications and assists residents with daily living activities while upholding CAPLICO values.

You will observe residents, document accurately, and communicate concerns to wellness leadership. Prior training and certification are required, with CPR preferred. This is a team-oriented position in a compassionate, resident-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Wellness Director about observations and issues.

Observes the resident taking the medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects, correctly documents the required information in the residents’ medication administration records, communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator or designated personnel. The Medication Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.Critical Success FactorsSuccessful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with the state’s regulatory requirements and facility requirements.Maintains up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state regulations.Compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions.Effective oral and written communication skills.Self-supervising, self-motivating; willing to collaborate and work as a team member.Adaptable and flexible; highly organized with ability to manage multiple demands/tasks concurrently.
