We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Medical Writer for ReachMD, subsidiary of US HealthConnect. ReachMD is a medical education company specialized in providing relevant and practical education for healthcare professionals to help improve patient outcomes. The Medical Writer is responsible for facilitating all phases of content development and quality control (QC) for a diverse portfolio of ReachMD medical education activities for clinicians (MDs, NPs, PAs, PharmDs, RNs, and others). The role involves preparing clinical presentations, expert interview scripts, panel discussion guides, case reviews, and other creative education formats. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong aptitude for independent research of clinically relevant areas to complete assignments accurately and efficiently. High levels of collaboration with faculty, clients, strategic partners, initiative and project leads, medical directors, and other staff will be a key aspect of the role.

What a day in the life of a ReachMD Medical Writer looks like:

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Creates clear and well-written deliverables with occasional supervision and direction
  • Researching, writing, proofreading, and editing a variety of ReachMD activities
  • Conducting comprehensive literature searches to enhance background understandings and evaluations of information to be written
  • Creating standardized best practices, procedures, and job aides to ensure effective development and review of ReachMD content: 1) Conducting needs analyses, 2) Facilitating content development work sessions with in-house teams and clients, 3) Coordinating paired writing opportunities with subject matter experts, 4) Storyboarding, 5) Annotating and referencing materials for medical/legal review as needed, 6) Content quality control (QC)
  • Ensuring that all written materials meet educational objectives
  • Assessing disease state, product, and brand awareness needs for clients
  • Researching updates from clinical, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries to inform and advise content and business development teams
  • Networking with clinical specialists and medical/scientific affairs representatives in various academic and health industry sectors
  • Assisting clinically-focused commercial marketing and PR messaging efforts
What we expect from qualified candidates:
  • Possess an advanced clinical, scientific, or journalism degree (MD/DO, PhD, PharmD, NP, RN with Masters certification, etc) with previous medical writing experience
  • Demonstrates a firm understanding of medical writing, RMD content development, and facilitative tools
  • Demonstrate exceptional written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of English grammar and AMA standard style guides
  • Interpret and communicate scientific/medical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Understand the processes of clinical research, pharmaceutical product development, and approvals
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities
  • Demonstrate superior interpersonal skills to create and sustain relationships with clinicians, clinical educators, and industry leaders
  • Be flexible and independent while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with clients and vendors
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Understand content strategies and trends that will guide engagement
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Be able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
