Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Lancaster, PA site is seeking a Unit Clerk to support the nurse’s station with clerical duties, charting, and communications. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transcribes all orders from the patient charts onto the chart and medication sheets. Notifies the RN of all STAT/Now orders.
• Organizes and maintains patient records by filing reports and assembling charts.
• Coordinates communication with physicians, staff, patients and families via telephone and intercom systems.
• Completes documentation related to unit activity such as census, admissions, discharges, transfers, surgeries and diet sheets.
• Runs errands for nurses on duty and assists with supplies and inventory.
• Enters data on the computer and supports orientation of other Unit Clerks.
