Job summary

ALABAMA REGIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES (ARMS) seeks a Medical Transportation Driver to safely transport patients between ARMS centers and to appointments, and to deliver medical supplies and mail between sites. You’ll support the patient care team with professionalism and compassion, handling routes and logs daily.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a clean driving record, CPR/First Aid (BLS) certification, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced community setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering medical items and patients preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (BLS) required.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with clean record.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients to/from ARMS health centers or residences.
  • Deliver medical supplies, medications, and interoffice mail between ARMS sites.
  • Maintain a daily route schedule and complete transport logs.
  • Inspect vehicle before and after use for safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide CPR or first aid in emergencies and report incidents.
  • Protect confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
  • Perform light lifting and occasional outreach tasks.

Position Summary:

As a Medical Transportation Driver at ARMS, you’ll provide safe, courteous, and timely transportation for patients traveling to and from appointments, as well as deliver medical supplies, medications, mail, and cargo between ARMS locations and designated sites. You’ll serve as an extension of our patient care team, bringing professionalism and compassion to every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport patients to/from ARMS health centers or residences, assisting with boarding and exiting as needed
  • Deliver medical supplies, medications, and interoffice mail between ARMS sites and community partners
  • Maintain a daily route schedule and complete transport logs
  • Inspect vehicle before and after use to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Provide CPR or first aid in emergencies and report incidents promptly
  • Protect confidentiality of patient and organizational information during deliveries
  • Perform light lifting, loading/unloading items, and occasional outreach tasks

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (BLS)
  • Previous experience transporting passengers, medical materials, or working in customer service preferred
  • Experience driving passenger vans or small buses a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
