Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform analytical testing on human body substances and interpret results to assist in disease prevention and health monitoring.

Responsibilities include ensuring QA, maintaining instrumentation, and providing test information to physicians and nurses. Phlebotomy duties may be required as part of patient care support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology required.
• 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Certifications: CGFNS Clinical Laboratory Scientist; ASCP/AMT/NCA/AAB.
• Phlebotomy duties may be required.

• Maintain QA programs and laboratory instrumentation with proper documentation.

Job description

Duties:

Provide laboratory information based on the performance of analytical tests on human body substances; correlate and interpret test data to detect evidence of or prevent disease or impairment and to promote and monitor good health; monitor quality assurance and maintain laboratory instrumentation including all documentation; follow established guidelines and protocols to provide requested clinical information to physicians, nurses, and other relevant health care personnel; and perform phlebotomy duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology; 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory in the same or similar discipline; Clinical laboratory scientist certification through CGFNS; and medical laboratory scientist certification by one of the following: ASCP, AMT, NCA, or AAB.
