Job summary

Amberwell Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/MLS-MLT to perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting results. The role includes venipuncture, quality control, equipment maintenance, and teamwork in a patient‑focused laboratory.

Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Technology and ASCP certification. The position is full‑time, on-site, with opportunities to contribute to clinical excellence across Amberwell locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates degree in Medical Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • ASCP or equivalent MLS/MT/MLT certification preferred.
  • Experience in clinical laboratory setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform quality control.
  • Perform testing on blood, urine, body fluids, and tissues.Collect specimens via venipuncture or capillary sampling.
  • Document results accurately and communicate findings to clinicians.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure reagents and supplies are stocked.

Mid-Shift, with rotating weekends on callJOB DESCRIPTION:Medical Laboratory Scientists (MT/MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) are responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results. MLS/MLTs perform a variety of complex chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests and procedures and related duties, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established standards and practices.Responsibilities for an MLS/MLT include but are not limited to:Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment; including the processing of quality control, calibrations and patient specimens.Following established protocols to perform testing of blood, urine, body fluids, tissues and other substances from patientsPerforming venipuncture and capillary collections to obtain patient samples.Demonstrating good skills in all forms of communication to ensure positive outcomesMaintaining appropriate education and developmentWorking well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperationProperly wear personal protective equipment to mitigate the risk of coming into contact with infectious materials.Maintaining reagent and supply inventory levels including stocking, restocking and ordering of supplies.ABOUT AMBERWELL HEALTH:Amberwell Health is a healthcare system dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve, providing compassionate healthcare with clinical excellence.
