Job summary

Ohio State University’s University Hospital | Critical Care Laboratory is seeking a Medical Technologist/Med Lab Tech for testing in the Critical Care Lab. The role involves working in a 24/7 automated system with chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, immunochemistry and coagulation analyzers, and supports residents and students.

40 hours per week, varying shifts, and final candidates must pass background checks; a drug screen or physical may be required after offer.

Additional Information

The Critical Care Laboratory provides comprehensive, time sensitive laboratory services to patients with a variety of diagnoses or admission/discharge criteria. The Critical Care Laboratory utilizes a total laboratory automated system that delivers specimens to automated chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, immunochemistry and coagulation analyzers. The lab provides training for residents, new staff and medical technology students. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours per day, Sunday through Saturday.

Minimum Qualifications

• For Hire: Associates' degree in medical technology or biological science with MLT (ASCP) certification.
• Must obtain MLT certification within one year from the date of hire.
