Job summary

PathGroup in Nashville, TN is seeking a licensed Medical Technologist to perform day-to-day specimen processing, analysis and results reporting under the guidance of MT III Lead. The role requires hands-on testing, adherence to procedures, safety, and quality controls within a clinical laboratory environment.

The incumbent will support supervisor and department leadership, assist in maintaining inventory, and ensure timely reporting of accurate results for patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical lab science or medical technology.
• Valid ASCP or AMT certification required.
• Maintain continuing education for certification and licensure.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens following department protocols.
• Design/update procedures to promote testing accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with ordering supplies and inventory control.
• Ensure safety per lab procedures and QA/QC programs.
• Produce, interpret and report test results accurately.
• Identify and correct issues affecting test performance or reporting.
• Communicate issues to supervisor or manager; coordinate with other departments.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methods.

Education

Bachelor's degree in lab science/medical technology

ASCP or AMT certification

Continuing education for certification/licensure
