Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Transfusion Medicine area. The role involves performing diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosis and monitoring, and preparing samples for testing following standardized procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Medical Technology or related field, at least one year of clinical lab experience, and certification as an MLS by ASCP BOC or equivalent.

• At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor of Science degree In Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline required. Experience: At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory required. Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant catagorical certification required. NOTE: This is a Career Ladder Position. Internal candidates are required to submit and meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements. External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 90 days in position.
