The role involves performing various patient testing and administrative tasks to support the clinical activities at UNCHCS.

Hours: Monday - Friday 14:30-23:00 with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities:

1. Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
2. Participate in teams or perform special projects/assignments.
3. Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, and train new employees. Serve as a technical resource.
4. Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
5. Conduct routine and specialized tests, observe reactions, and provide data.
6. Prepare specimens, reagents, solutions, and perform necessary procedures.
7. Report results to healthcare providers and discuss test outcomes as needed.
8. Review test results for accuracy and correct errors promptly.

Other Information

Education Requirements: Bachelor's of Science degree. Must meet eligibility to sit for the MT exam within 12 months of hire.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certification must be obtained within one year of becoming exam eligible.
