Job summary

Freeman Health System in Springdale, AR, is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and specialized tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision. You will ensure accurate results through strict QC and assist in maintaining records in line with regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and preferred MT/MLS or equivalent certifications. You will also teach staff and participate in urine drug screens as needed, contributing to high-quality patient care.

What You'll Do

Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• Possesses problem solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job

• Demonstrates good time management and organizational skills

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's in medical technology from an accredited institution

• One year acute care experience

• MT/MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent certification
