Performs patient testing and administrative tasks supporting clinical activities at UNCHCS.

Weeknight shift position with rotating weekends, including night shifts.

Responsibilities:
1. Investigate equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow issues.
2. Participate in teams or special projects/assignments.
3. Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, and train new employees. Serve as a technical resource.
4. Conduct quality control and equipment maintenance.
5. Perform routine and specialized tests, observe reactions, and record data.
6. Prepare specimens, reagents, solutions, and filters as needed.
7. Report results to healthcare providers and discuss findings.
8. Review test results for accuracy and correct errors promptly.

Other Information

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's of Science degree; eligible to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Certification must be obtained within one year of becoming exam eligible.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* No prior experience required.
