Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Florence, SC seeks a licensed Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our dedicated Laboratory team on a full-time basis. This role supports patient care through precise lab work in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position notes hourly pay and a standard 40-hour work week. Sponsorship is not available for this opening. MUHA oversees the MUSC Florence lab operations and is committed to quality patient outcomes.

Job Description

Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Records lab results in specified system. Follows all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Hours: 2nd shift

Education: Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).

Certification: ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW required

Experience: One to two years’ experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred but will gladly accept new grads!
