Valley Health in Front Royal, VA is seeking a Medical Technologist for a full-time position in the Laboratory. The role encompasses testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology and Serology across patient age groups from neonate to geriatric.

The position requires a BS in a relevant science discipline and appropriate certification/licensure as applicable. Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and professional communication are essential in this fast-paced lab

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge/competence in serving patients of all ages including neonate to geriatric.
• Performs diagnostic testing across Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology and Serology.
• Maintains instruments and QC; interprets calibrations and results.

• Licensure as applicable per state requirements.

The Medical Technologist will interact and service all age groups including neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. They must be proficient in phlebotomy for the groups (if applicable). All technicians and technologists are generalists and must be able to perform automated and manual testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Serology. They must have the ability to perform instrument maintenance and be competent to interpret calibrations and QC. They must be able to prioritize work and maintain a professional demeanor under stress. **Education**Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Note: Alternative degrees in science and U.S. military laboratory training can be accepted if CLIA alternative education requirements are shown to have been met. Transcripts will need to be submitted with application.**Certification & Licensures**West Virginia DHHR Clinical Laboratory Practitioner License, if applicable.
