Qualifications

• Requirements: Associate degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Preferred: BS in Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Licensing: Florida Medical Technologist license or eligible for licensure.
• Experience: 0–1 year as Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing with accuracy and precision for the assigned section.
• Enter test results in the laboratory information system accurately and promptly.
• Document and call all critical values to a Health Care provider.
• Adhere to quality control policies in testing, resulting, and documentation.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and troubleshooting records.
• Identify problems that affect test performance and notify supervisors.
• Follow general laboratory, safety, and department policies and procedures.
• Provide instruction and training to students and employees.
• Perform proficiency testing on external and internal specimens to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor equipment and supplies to maintain inventory levels and report deviations.
• Follow all safety policies including proper PPE usage.
• Conform to regulatory requirements with adherence to quality control rules.
