Moreover, the incumbent facilitates quality assurance and instrument maintenance.**CORE JOB FUNCTIONS*** Verifies identification of specimen with physicians’ orders, prepares specimens for testing, and handles all specimens in a safe and careful manner.* Analyzes results of testing and interprets abnormal or unusual results.* Researches and prepares all pertinent patient data and refers all data and testing results to pathologists for evaluation and sign-out.* Calibrates equipment, orders supplies, and maintains inventory of relevant forms and materials.* Recognizes test inconsistencies and takes appropriate corrective action while supporting laboratory co-workers in resolution of similar problems.* Administers quality-control tests, according to procedure, and maintains appropriate data recording.* Assumes lead duties and acts as a resource to staff. Transport cell therapy products between clinical sites and Cellular Therapy Laboratory. Receive cellular therapy products and document and process or store as required. Perform audits and prepare quality and assessment reports for review by Laboratory Director, as needed. Assist in compliance applications and inspection readiness, as needed. Participates with the CTL Director on the development of procedures for participation in clinical trials. Assists Director with feasibility questionnaires and engages in site-initiation visits with sponsors. Assists Director with training CTL staff on clinical trial protocols and prepares work instructions. Reads and understands trial manuals and ensures equipment and materials are in place for study subjects. Ensure sponsors and monitors have required documents and assists Director with monitor visits.
