Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist to perform high and medium complexity testing, analyze results, and ensure patient safety.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and compliance within a fast-paced laboratory. The candidate should hold a BS in Medical Technology or related field with MT training, be ASCP certified or equivalent, and demonstrate strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field; 1 year MT training acceptable.
• 1 year of lab training or experience performing high complexity testing.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment (e.g., analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes).

Responsibilities

• Perform high/medium complexity testing as part of patient care.
• Analyze, review, and report testing results.
• Recognize when corrective actions are needed and implement solutions.
• Work in a fast-paced lab with hazards; uphold safety, compliance, and quality control.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and adhere to privacy standards.

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: First shift
Full-time: Benefit Eligible

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
