OneBlood in Florida is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist responsible for performing essential testing procedures on blood and donor samples. This role demands a Bachelor's degree in a biological science and a valid Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking.

Perform basic through advanced testing procedures on patient and/or donor samples and interpret results in accordance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies and procedures.
Monday - Thursday, 3rd shift, 9:00 pm - 7:00 am; rotating holiday coverage required.
Initial 2 weeks Monday - Friday, 1st shift, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Following day-shift orientation, transition to night schedule, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, until completion of training and independent sign-off.
Based upon when hours are worked, position may include a 3rd shift and weekend differential of $7.50 - $12.00 per hour.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
• Bachelor's degree in a biological science or related scientific field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of Medical Technologist experience or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
In Florida, a valid and current Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in Immunohematology or Blood Banking. In certain specialty laboratories other Florida licenses may be required. If working in a state without laboratory personnel licensure requirements, must meet current CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
Ability to periodically perform moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or prolonged sitting or standing.

Functions are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances. Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
