HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, FL is looking for a Medical Technologist to provide expert laboratory testing and support patient results with timely turnaround. The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and adherence to protocol in a busy clinical lab.

Required are an Associate degree (2 years) with a Bachelor’s preferred, Florida MT license or ability to obtain, and a minimum of 1 year MT experience; licenses in Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Technologist License in Generalist areas: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsabilités

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to protocols.
• Assume department responsibilities in the supervisor’s absence.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate judgment and independent thinking in correlation of patient results.
• Review pending logs and resolve outstanding workload.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle critical specimens.

What you will do in this role:

• Performaccurateandtimelylaboratory testing by analyzingproficiencytesting samples according to instructions and complete within the allowabletime frame
• Assume responsibility of the department asappropriate inthe absence of the supervisor
• Complete all required records/documentationpertaining topatient results
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
• Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results. (Including performing delta checks, etc.)
• Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results

What Qualifications you will need:

• A 2 Year/Associate Degreeisrequired
• A 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Medical Technologyis preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred
• A State of Florida Technologist License isrequiredOR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas: (Generalist highlypreferred)-Blood BankBank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
