Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist in Panama City, Florida to perform laboratory tests across various specialties. Responsibilities include complex analysis of tests, troubleshooting instruments, training new employees, and participating in phlebotomy. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field and possess the Medical Technologist (MT) registry. A $15K sign-on and/or relocation bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Registry as Medical Technologist (MT)/ Medical Laboratory Scientist required.
• ASCP or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve instrument problems and document actions.
• Ensure quality control is logged and follow corrective action procedures.

Job description

*$15K SIGN-ON AND/OR RELOCATION BONUS AVAILABLE*

Our Medical Technologists (MT) perform assigned laboratory tests in specialty departments to include Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. By conducting laboratory tests and procedures, you will help to provide data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

What you will do in this role:

• Day-to-day duties include complex analysis of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
• You will also be responsible for specimen receiving and putting away supplies when received in the department.
• You will troubleshoot/resolve instrument problems and document corrective action in appropriate log and when necessary, perform instrumentation repairs.
• Assure that quality control is properly performed and logged and follow proper department procedure for corrective action.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to train new employees and/or students.
• You will actively participate in phlebotomy and the accession responsibilities.

What Qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology of Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Medical Technologists (MT)/ Medical Laboratory Scientist registry required to start.
• ASCP or equivalent is preferred.
• US Authorization to work is a requirement.
