Job summary

Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform automated and manual laboratory procedures. The candidate will be responsible for demonstrating knowledge in bacteriology, chemistry, and hematology under supervision.

Hourly Wage Estimate: $35.50 - $53.28 / hour

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures under the supervision of a Medical Technologist. The technician must demonstrate knowledge and competency in bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, hematology, serology, chemistry, immunology, and immunohematology as required for the position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution as a Medical Technician OR successful completion of a program with chemistry, biology, and a structured curriculum in clinical laboratory techniques OR 60 semester hours of accredited college credit with chemistry, biology, and clinical laboratory techniques.
• Experience in a large clinical laboratory and children's hospital setting preferred; new graduates of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program will be considered.
• Must pass a national certifying examination, such as ASCP or equivalent, and obtain State of Nevada Medical Laboratory Technician certification upon hire or within 90 days.
