Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Claremore, Oklahoma. The ideal candidate will conduct laboratory tests, ensure the reliability of results, and maintain instruments. Candidates must have at least 2 years of laboratory experience and be a registered technician with ASCP or AMT certification. Experience with specific diagnostic analyzers and AHA BLS certification is preferred. This role is a 13-week contract requiring weekend and weekday shifts.

Qualifications

Job description

Contract: 13-week contract with possible extension

Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7 AM – 7 PM; Monday & Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM

Weekly Hours: 40

Responsibilities:

Conduct and analyze laboratory tests to assist in diagnosing and treating patients

Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by following standard operating procedures

Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment, and quality control records

Collect and prepare specimens for testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and other sections as needed

Report and document test results accurately in the laboratory information system

Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of laboratory experience required

Must be a registered Laboratory Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Experience with Cerner Millennium and Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics chemistry analyzers

AHA BLS certification required

Blood Bank and Pediatric laboratory experience required

Phlebotomy skills preferred, but not required
