Job summary

Live Well Homecare seeks a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to perform diagnostic testing on various specimens to support accurate patient diagnoses.

Responsibilities include preparing reagents, calibrating instruments, analyzing results, and training staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, with ASCP certification eligible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field.
• Eligible for ASCP certification in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Urinalysis is advantageous.

Role Overview:

Performs quality diagnostic laboratory testing on various specimens to support accurate patient diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates clinical competencies to perform and analyze laboratory tests/procedures.
• Prepares reagents, standards, and controls following established protocols.
• Performs timely test analysis and maintains instruments through calibration and standardization.
• Researches and develops new procedures as assigned.
• Adheres to safety, hospital, department policies, and laboratory procedures.
• Utilizes computer systems for daily laboratory operations.
• Assists in orienting and training new staff and students.
• Contributes to team efforts, quality improvement, and department productivity.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field.
• Eligible for ASCP certification in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Preferred certifications include ASCP, AMT, or similar.
• Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Urinalysis is advantageous.
• Military medical laboratory training or accredited laboratory program experience is valued.
