Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field preferred.
  • Eligible for certification by recognized boards (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
  • Experience in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, or urinalysis is preferred.
  • Must meet Pathway I–IV education and certification requirements depending on pathway chosen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze a variety of laboratory tests with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and controls following established protocols.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Research and develop new testing procedures as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and organizational policies.
  • Utilize computer skills for laboratory and hospital information systems.
  • Assist in training new staff and students, fostering a team environment.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental productivity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
