In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. One year of specialized experience which includes performing testing procedures in a clinical laboratory; maintaining clinical laboratory equipment; and preparing reports and/or documenting results through automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
This position has a selective placement factor which must be met prior to employment and for continued employment: This position requires a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification. Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or other board or registry deemed comparable by Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (OASD(HA)) or their designee as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is required.
