About the role

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and adherence to BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. The specialist also supports environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives.

How you will contribute

• You will determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• You will evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs, following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and involving the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
• You will support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• You will manage employee incidents, determining whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER and refer to EHS guidance regarding incidents.
• You may act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

What you bring to Takeda

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where the responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactory completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits Summary

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $25.60 - $35.20. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and new hires may accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
