Duties
  • Total Rewards of an Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Incumbents must screen/receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner - determine the nature of requests and provide the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes
  • Notifies his/her supervisor when clinic access is less than desirable or if an individual patient cannot be scheduled within mandated clinic timeframes
  • Incumbent develops and maintains effective working relationships with all clinical and administrative staff in determining priorities of activities in support of direct patient care
  • Incumbent must have the knowledge to assume the role of an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) within any clinical service overseen by the Health Administration Service (Primary Care - Surgical care - Specialty Care - Extended Care - as well as Lab and Radiology Services) during special projects or heavy workload - for leave - vacancies - or when the AMSA is detailed to fill-in other areas
  • Generates patient workload reports for validation and monitors activity in clinical areas to assure consistent and accurate reporting
  • Interprets and applies to a complex body of pertinent laws - regulations - directives - and policies that relate to the administration of VA Healthcare Benefits
  • Daily review of active/pending consults - RTC - VAOS - Open Encounters - run 30 - 60 - 90-day reports - and Audio care communications for accuracy and disposition
  • Coordinates administrative services for veterans - family members - caregivers and clinical staff to ensure continuity of inpatient and outpatient care
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
