Military Treatment Facilities under DHA (DOD) in El Paso, TX is seeking a Medical Supply Technician to support the Sterile Processing Department at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. You will operate ultrasonic cleaners, assist in sterilization, and manage OR instrument trays; duties include inventory, wrapping, sterilizing and ensuring instruments are ready for the OR.

This Direct Hire offers GS-5 level pay with a salary range of $40,736 to $52,957 per year.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience including decontaminating medical supplies and/or equipment and conducting inventory in a medical setting.
• Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.
• A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

++Basic Requirements for Medical Supply Technician:++

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes decontaminating medical supplies and/or equipment and conducting inventory in a medical setting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
