Job summary

Sterling Care Bethesda is seeking a Central Supply Clerk to support the nursing team by ensuring supplies are ordered, received, inventoried, stocked, and distributed within budget. The role emphasizes medical inventory, budget management, and infection control in a long-term care setting.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in central supply or medical inventory, strong organizational and computer skills, and an Active GNA license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active GNA license is required.
• At least one year in central supply or medical inventory preferred.
• Budget management, inventory control, purchasing, and supply ordering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, label, store and organize medical supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory and monitor supply levels.
• Order supplies within budgetary limitations.
• Verify orders, invoices, and billing information for payment.
• Stock nursing stations, resident rooms, and clinical areas.
• Maintain accurate documentation of distributed supplies.
• Keep central supply areas clean, organized, and secure.
• Follow infection prevention and safety procedures.
• Report damaged equipment or shortages promptly.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, vendors, residents, and departments.
• Use designated computer systems for inventory, ordering, tracking, and documentation.
• Participate in meetings, training, and in-services.
• Assist with resident needs in care areas and respond to call lights.
