Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University, in collaboration with Crouse Health, offers a Medical Student Fellow position in an interdisciplinary addiction fellowship. This 6-month program develops skills in advocacy, mentoring and education, recovery/wellness support, and ethical responsibility for future healthcare professionals.

Per diem, one day a week for 6 months, allows participation in clinical rotations and academic activities while preparing for academic and clinical careers in addiction

Qualifications

• Current medical student affiliated with SUNY Upstate Medical University (MS3 or MS4).
• Excellent written and oral communication; proficiency with common software applications.

Job description

Job Summary: Medical Student Fellow within the SUNY Upstate Medical University/Crouse Health Interdisciplinary-Interprofessional Addiction Fellowship, a 6-month program aimed to prepare healthcare professionals from various medical and mental health specialties for academic and clinical careers in Addiction Treatment. The clinical rotations and academic activities will aim to help fellows develop skills and expertise in the areas of Advocacy, Mentoring and Education, Recovery/Wellness Support, and Ethical Responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical Student Fellow: Current medical students affiliated with SUNY Upstate Medical University, MS3 or MS4.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral form with persons of varying educational and cultural backgrounds. Competency in appropriate computer software applications.

Work Days

• Per diem - one day a week for 6 months
