Job description

Provides operational oversight of all medical staff peer review process to ensure accurate identification, tracking, analysis, and reporting of clinical performance and/or unprofessional conduct. This position will collect, compile, and analyze peer review data in a manner that promotes education, improvement, and patient safety; and conduct ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of all peer review activities. The Medical Staff Peer Review Specialist will work closely with the Medical Staff Excellence Committee (MSCE) Chair, Vice President of Medical Affairs, and Medical Staff in order to maintain peer review structure and its integrity.

Required Experience

Required:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse with at least five (5) years of acute care nursing
  • At a minimum, one (1) year recent experience in medical staff peer review, performance improvement, or quality management in a healthcare facility
  • Computer literacy with expertise in database entry, extraction, reporting and analysis
  • Must obtain LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment

Preferred:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred
