Job Requirement

Education/Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or Business Administration or a closely related field, and five (5) years of experience in medical staff management or related field in a major hospital setting. Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Physical Requirements
Knowledge of: Medical staff services function and structure; credentialing and privileging; Det Norske Veritas (DNV) standards; laws and regulations related to the credentialing process; bylaw, rules and regulations (CMS, NRS); department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; hospital personnel policies and procedures; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.Skill in: Effectively managing assigned staff; facilitating resolution of conflicts among staff; applying budget principles and practices; identifying and implementing performance standards; problem solving; developing interpersonal relations with department heads and functional areas of the hospital; analyzing and problem solving; applying team building concepts; utilizing personal computers for data management and information dissemination; Microsoft Office application suite; communicating effectively with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated or standing for long periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
