Job summary

Hatalom is seeking a Medical Simulators Instructor/Operator in Fort Campbell, KY to provide training for Soldiers in medical simulation practices. This role requires teaching both inexperienced and seasoned personnel using approved scenarios and techniques.

The ideal candidate will possess a current NREMT credential, experience in medical instruction, and strong communication skills. The position is contingent upon award of government contract and offers opportunities in training and education.

Qualifications

  • Current NREMT credential at EMT level or higher.
  • Familiarity with computers and basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for Contractor CAC.

Job description

Medical Simulators Instructor/Operator

Location: Fort Campbell, KY

Description

The Instructor/Operator (I/O) role provides training services for the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC), which plans and carries out instruction and validation in accordance with accepted medical practices and established military medical and operational doctrine. The I/O will be capable of instructing a mixed population of Soldiers, both inexperienced and seasoned, in a classroom or a field training/evaluation environment. The I/O will utilize approved simulation scenarios, moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate injuries and operational environments. The I/O will assess students’ critical thinking and psychomotor skills based on performance under high‑fidelity situations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and maintain Training Support Packages (TSPs), lesson plans, and training materials as required.
  • Support training event planning, execution, evaluation, and preparation of After Action Reviews (AARs) and related documentation.
  • Instruct and support training on new battlefield medical procedures, techniques, and equipment as directed by the Government.
  • Utilize medical simulation systems, virtual training platforms, and other advanced learning methodologies.
  • Ensure training courses address all levels of students.
  • Capable of instructing, demonstrating skills, and testing Soldiers in all areas of the 68W Sustainment, EMT, NREMT Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) level, and CLS courses; must meet minimum instructor qualifications for each course.
  • Comfortable instructing a mixed population of Soldiers in class sizes not exceeding the instructor/student ratios directed by AMEDDC&S.
  • Work with the training unit to assist in preparing equipment, performing use, preparation, and clean‑up.
  • Possess presentation skills to train and educate students on technical material and applications.
  • Remain informed of and maintain proficiency with applicable company products.
  • Take inventory and manage consumable items (skins, synthetic blood, etc.) and Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) kits.
  • Perform daily PMCS on all equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student/employee information.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current in and maintain National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) credential with a level of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher.
  • Compliance with one of the following:
    • Former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Advanced Leader Course (ALC) graduate.
    • Former Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman E‑6 or above.
    • Former Air Force 4NOX1, or an Aerospace Medical Service (4NOX1) E‑6 or above.
    • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP) certification.
  • Complete TC 8‑800 (all tables) or the most current TC3 instructor course offered by the Army Medical Department (AMEDD); I/O must complete TC 8‑800 skills validation annually.
  • Possess comprehension skills for understanding the course material and be able to apply knowledge to presentations.
  • Be familiar with computers and possess basic Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Knowledge of staff positions required to establish and operate program site codes, training centers, etc.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and be eligible to obtain a Contractor CAC.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Contributions
  • Combat experience preferred, especially in medical specialties of 68W, 18D, NEC 8404, or 4NOX1.
  • Current provider and/or instructor level certification in PALS, ALS, ACLS, PHTLS, and ITLS.
  • Prior experience in instructing and education methodology.
  • Communication skills to read, write, and follow local training procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills for instructing all levels of students and working in a team.
  • Ability and desire to actively pursue learning opportunities in the emergency medical field.
Job Context / Physical Demands

The position is operated in classroom settings and field conditions. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear, and reach with hands and arms.
