Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Medical Scribe to support clinicians by handling documentation and clerical tasks, enabling providers to focus on care.

The role is non-clinical and unlicensed, with travel to satellite offices (except Yuma) required. You will assist with navigating the EHR, document patient histories, exam notes, lab and imaging results, and ensure charts are complete before signing off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of college level courses or current healthcare student status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the practitioner in navigating the EHR and may locate information for review.
• Accompanies the practitioner during patient interviews and examinations without adding observations.
• Documents dictated patient history, HPI, ROS, PMH/SH/HPI, medications and allergies.
• Documents physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the practitioner.
• Documents lab and radiographic results as dictated by the practitioner.
• Records times of patient care activities and communications.
• Ensures practitioner reviews all documentation and signs off the chart.
• Conducts chart rounds with the practitioner to review patient status.
• Ensures authentication before leaving the patient care area and communicates orders.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as requested.
