  • Escort patients to exam rooms and on-site facilities as needed.
  • Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
  • Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance.
  • Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional environment.
  • Keep site stocked with supplies; provide compassionate care to patients.

Job description

Job Overview

The Scribe Technician (Scribe Tech) captures accurate, detailed documentation of patient visits into the EMR, assists physicians with basic patient care and procedures, and supports site operations. The role is suited for individuals pursuing careers as CNA, MA, EMT, or Paramedic and offers extensive exposure to the healthcare profession.

Responsibilities
  • Capture accurate documentation of patient visits into the EMR in a timely manner.
  • Assist physicians with basic patient care, including phlebotomy, urine drug screens, lab processing, fit testing, rapid point‑of‑care testing, urinalysis, EKG, and procedure set‑ups.
  • Assist site management with patient flow, inventory, and follow‑up on labs.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations for site labs and exam rooms (logbook maintenance, medication and supply expiration checks, specimen handling).
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, X‑ray or other on‑site facilities as needed.
  • Facilitate diagnostic tests such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and referrals to medical specialists via Aftercare.
  • Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
  • Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
  • Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (undergraduate degree a plus).
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program and/or phlebotomy credentials is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
  • English language proficiency (speaking and writing).
  • Ability to work full‑time, including weekends.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; friendly bedside manner.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational, problem‑solving, and independent work ability.
  • Knowledge of third‑party payor requirements preferred.
  • Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location.
  • Positive, adaptable attitude and capacity to maintain a quick pace in a fast‑paced urgent care facility (8‑12 hour shifts minus meal/break time).
Physical Requirements

The position may require lifting light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical supplies). A quick pace and the ability to stand for extended periods during the scheduled shift are required.

Pay & Benefits

Hourly rate: $20.58 per hour. Compensation is based on industry standards and may vary with experience and location.
