The Medical Affairs Company (TMAC) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison for Cardiovascular duties in the Mid-Atlantic. You will represent the company in scientific discussions, develop and maintain relationships with cardiovascular KOLs, and support medical communications and publications while traveling up to 60% of the time.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced scientific degree and at least 1 year of MSL experience, with strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease, data interpretation,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with cardiovascular medical community in academic and large clinical settings.
  • Support medical communications and publications as a liaison between external stakeholders and internal teams.

Job description

Medical Science Liaison, Cardiovascular (Mid-Atlantic)

Serving as a field-based extension of the Company, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and their recently approved PCSK9 inhibitor, therapy indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise: to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with hypercholesterolemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH).

Duties And Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of the MSL role are included, but are not limited to the following:

  • Engage in meaningful scientific discussions with external stakeholders, both about the disease state as well as the scientific evidence supporting the Company’s products/portfolio.
  • Build and maintain solid and credible relationships with the cardiovascular medical community on Company's behalf in both academic and large community group settings within the lipidology space.
  • Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.) by acting as a liaison between external stakeholders and the Company’s internal stakeholders.
  • Assess KOL alignment with the key elements of the scientific platform to inform territory and medical strategy..
  • Stay abreast of emerging scientific literature/clinical data and translate the data in applicable knowledge exchange.
  • Collect scientific and clinical insights to support ongoing information/clinical data sharing (i.e. new data, competitive information, insights learned from customer) to optimize communications and coordinated activities across the organization.
  • Thrive in a small company environment and adapt to the dynamic nature of a growing organization.
  • Ability to travel, up to 60% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Advanced scientific, clinical, or healthcare-related degree preferred (MD, DNP, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, MSN, or equivalent). Other degrees may be considered based on relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical science liaison or similar field based medical experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a strong scientific foundation and working knowledge of cardiovascular disease states. Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of medicine, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, customer strategies, and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to access and develop relationships with high-level stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively communicate scientific content through 1:1 meetings, small group interactions, and in writing.
  • Must be a strong team player and effectively collaborate with internal departments.
