Job description

About Servier

Servier Pharmaceuticals is an independent, commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company built to think differently about what long-term impact can look like in healthcare. Launched in 2018 and backed by the strength and stability of the Servier Group, our foundation-governed model gives us the freedom to invest for the future, move with purpose, and stay focused on where patients need us most.

In less than a decade, we have grown from a small U.S. presence into a rapidly expanding, multi-billion-dollar organization with an award-winning culture, six commercial products, and a portfolio strengthened through bold strategic investments and innovation. Our teams are helping advance important new treatment options for patients facing serious diseases with high unmet need, particularly in rare oncology and neurology.

Our ambition is clear: to build a leading U.S. biopharmaceutical company known for scientific excellence, operational strength, and deep commitment to patients. Just as important is how we build it. We are creating a culture that values entrepreneurship, collaboration, accountability, and the belief that individuals at every level can shape the future of the company.

For people who want more than a job - who want the opportunity to build, lead, grow, and make a measurable impact - Servier offers the chance to be part of a company with purpose, momentum, and the ability to help define what comes next for patients and for our industry.

Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Director, Field Medical Lead for Hematology & Oncology, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for managing and executing field medical activities within a specific geographic territory and contributing to company-wide initiatives that support Servier's strategy. The MSL will serve as a critical link between Servier and external healthcare providers (HCPs) establishing strong professional collaborations with investigators and other HCPs within the designated territory. Focusing on hematology & oncology (AML, MDS, ALL, CCA), the MSL will provide credible scientific expertise within Servier and share scientific insights that will impact the strategies of U.S and Global Medical teams, Servier's Leadership Team, and other internal stakeholders. The MSL's actions and collaborations with HCP's are on the forefront of advancing science and medicine on behalf of patients.

Primary Responsibilities
Scientific Exchange with HCPs
  • Utilize internal platforms to identify and qualify key opinion leaders (KOLs) within your geographic territory.
  • Prepare and maintain a territory management plan that will be shared with Medical leadership and other internal stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with HCPs by identifying KOLs within your geographic territory and engaging in mutually beneficial scientific exchange regarding disease areas, therapeutic mechanisms of action, clinical study design/results, and Servier's development pipeline.
  • Understand KOL viewpoint on research and science being conducted by Servier.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate scientific insights with Servier's Leadership Team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to on- and off-label questions with the highest integrity, compliance, and adherence to legal, regulatory and Servier guidelines, policies & procedures.
  • Manage concerns of physicians and investigators regarding trials, drug usage, and challenges related to clinical care.
  • Develop and maintain an advanced level of knowledge about pertinent studies, compounds, and diseases that would facilitate collegiate and scientific discussions with leading oncology thought leaders.
  • Mastery of compliance concepts and ability to apply them to the ever-changing health care environment.
  • Consistently demonstrate a high standard of excellence in the management of assigned territory while also contributing to the success of colleagues and the MSL organization as a whole.
Knowledge Generation
  • Support company-sponsored studies (CSSs) by helping to identify appropriate sites and investigators, site initiation visits, engaging investigators, sharing trial updates, accrual support, identifying challenges related to the trial, and communicating appropriate information to internal stakeholders.
  • Support investigator-sponsored studies (ISSs) by reviewing proposals submitted by investigators within your geographic territory, identifying the trials that fit within Servier's ISS strategy for the therapeutic area, presenting select proposals to local and global review committees, communicating committee decisions to investigators, and maintaining effective communication with investigators throughout the duration of the ISS.

  • Participate in or lead advisory board meetings at the local, regional, and national level.
Internal Contributions

  • Provide education to internal stakeholders, sharing up-to-date scientific information about a therapeutic area and/or company products.
  • Provide medical support to facilitate the listing of products in medical guidelines, and formularies as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings as appropriate, compliantly providing guidance and sharing insights based on HCP interactions.
  • Autonomously execute projects that align with company strategy and require cross-functional collaboration.
  • Execute all responsibilities within legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.
  • Advocate for the Medical organization and the MSL role by understanding corporate strategy and describing how Medical (and MSLs, specifically) contribute to the achievement of that strategy.
Education and Required Skills
