Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Scheduling Clerk to support a streamlined, fully computerized scheduling environment.

You will apply department-specific instructions to identify procedures and allocate rooms and equipment, while entering data accurately and generating reports as needed. The role requires prior medical clerical experience or an associate's degree, strong typing skills, and familiarity with CPR where required.

Qualifications

• One year of medical clerical or related experience or an associate's degree.
• Typing requirements vary by department; see requisition for requirements.
• CPR certification may be required by department; see requisition for requirement.
• Three years previous experience in admissions or a scheduling environment (preferred).
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in computerized input of data.
• Good communication skills.
• Fundamental knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application.
• Level of proficiency in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) varies by department, see requisition for requirements.
• Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling function in a streamlined environment, which is fully computerized.
• Identifies type of procedure requested and schedules rooms and equipment following special instructions.
• Enters data into computer systems, verifies accuracy of input, and prints reports as necessary.
