UTHealth Houston is seeking a Medical Records Technician II to manage and maintain patient health records with precision and confidentiality. Join the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center as a Medical Records Technician II and play a vital role in supporting quality patient care through the accurate management of health information and exceptional customer service. In this position, you will maintain and update electronic and physical medical records, assist providers with documentation corrections, respond to record requests, and ensure patient information is accurate, accessible, and compliant with privacy regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and service-focused, with experience working in electronic health records, preferably Epic. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with clinical teams, provide outstanding support to patients and staff, and contribute to the integrity, confidentiality, and overall efficiency of behavioral health services. This is a Monday through Friday am-5pm schedule.

Ensure physical documentation is organized, legible, properly identified/itemized in the correct patient's chart and accounted for according to Medicaid/Medicare and organizational guidelines to facilitate payment for services. Maintains confidentiality and privacy as required by UTH and government regulatory compliance agencies.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year of responsible related experience working within Medical Records required
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
